Summary

The article "How to protect your digital privacy from new Christmas presents" written by Alex Hern is devoted to the discussion of the problem of data collection without person's agreement.
Nowadays more and more people buy different presents online instead of visiting a shop. The author writes that we should be careful when we buy digital items online, as there can be a hidden tracking device inside them. First, the author draws our attention to the message connected with policy agreement. He says that we shouldn't give our agreement once we saw this message, because in such case we usually automatically send the private information they do not need to know at all. Then he analyses the whole situation, and says that nowadays too many houses are under control. He gives an example of a case connected with a teddy bear, that turned out to have a camera in its nose. He also emphasizes that we should always check settings in a digital thing we bought.
